Howard Lawrence of our 1st Tenor section, has been a member for 25 years this month and, he tells us, has thoroughly enjoyed it and expects to continue for may years yet despite being in his 80th year.
Howard explained how he came to join the choir after retiring from the railway. He had two primary objectives which were to sing in a choir and to learn German, as he and Eileen invariably took their holidays in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. We know he can sing and has made a great contribution to the choir and his German is sufficiently accurate to make himself understood – both objectives achieved then Howard!
To mark the occasion he was presented with a framed certificate by Chairman John Wakeland and warmly applauded by choir members. Well done sir!
